What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website saves on your computer or mobile device when you visit it. On later visits, the website can read them again. Similar technologies, such as your browser’s local storage, work in the same way. This policy covers both.
What meetaskly.com uses
Needed for the website to work. These make the website work or remember choices you make, so they need no consent:
askly.consent(local storage): remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics and marketing cookies. Kept until you clear your browser data.askly_lang(cookie): remembers the language you chose with the language switch (EN or ET, at the top or bottom of the page), so the home page opens in that language next time. Set only when you choose a language. Kept for 12 months.askly.locale.override(local storage): remembers the language version you chose with the language switch or when we suggest a page in your language. Kept until you clear your browser data.askly.suggest.dismissed(session storage): remembers that you closed the language suggestion. Deleted when you close the tab.askly-announce-closed(session storage): remembers that you closed the announcement at the top of the page. Deleted when you close the tab.__askly_qs_session_id(session storage): created only when you ask a question in Askly’s AI search, so follow-up answers belong to the same search. Deleted when you close the tab.
Analytics, only with your consent. If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics sets:
_ga: tells visits apart, so we can count visitors. Kept for 2 years._ga_ZZ1W630WBN: keeps the state of your visit. Kept for 2 years.
Google Analytics shows us which pages and buttons help visitors. It does not store your IP address. Google may process this data outside the EEA, under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (Google’s privacy policy).
Marketing, only with your consent. If you accept marketing cookies, Google Ads can set cookies:
_gcl_auand_gcl_aw: link your visit to the Google ad you clicked. Kept for 90 days. Google may also use cookies on its own domains, such as doubleclick.net, to show Askly ads to people who visited (Google’s privacy policy).
These cookies tell Google when someone who clicked an Askly ad clicks “Try free now”, clicks “Book a demo” or books a demo. That shows us which ads work. They also let us show Askly ads to people who visited meetaskly.com. Google may process this data outside the EEA, under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Campaign names, for the visit. When you arrive from an ad, the address can carry the campaign name (utm_ parameters). We add it to the sign-up and demo booking links, so we know which campaign brought a new account. The ad platform’s click ID is added only if you accepted marketing cookies. If you accepted analytics or marketing cookies, we keep these for your visit:
askly.campaign(session storage): the campaign name, and the click ID if you accepted marketing cookies. Deleted when you close the tab.
Changing your choice
You can change your choice at any time under “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page. If you withdraw consent you gave earlier, we delete the cookies we set on meetaskly.com and reload the page without Google Analytics or the advertising platforms. Cookies that Google, Meta or Reddit keep on their own domains can be deleted in your browser or in your account settings with them.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. How you do this depends on your browser: see its help pages, or www.aboutcookies.org. If you block or delete this storage, the website may not remember your choices.
Other websites
When you sign up or log in (chat.askly.me) or book a demo (Calendly), those websites use their own cookies under their own policies.
